Do Not Ignore the Signs

Each year in the UK, 230,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, of which 30,000 do not survive. There are several problems that can affect the prostate and you need to be aware of these and how to prevent them.

The prostate is situated between the penis and the bladder and its main job is to provide seminal fluid for the sperm. Prostate cancer is the second biggest cancer as far as men are concerned. It can develop quite early and cancerous cells can remain dormant, thus having no effect. For those that are less lucky, they can rapidly spread and cause the development of a tumour.

Some people suggest that prostate health facts are inevitable and that all men will experience it if they live long enough. Diet, exercise and family history have all been linked with determining your personal risk factor of contracting prostate cancer.

As well as cancer, you can also fall victim to benign prostate hyperplasia or BPH for short. This involves the enlargement of the prostate which can remain harmless. Some complications can exist, particularity with the urinary tract. In the worst case scenario, the bladder can become completely blocked, making urination no longer possible.

Prostate health is very important and should never go undetected. Never ignore the signs and seek help if necessary.
